As part of Year of Young People 2018 we are raising awareness of an exciting piece of funding that is available through the whole of North Ayrshire. Participatory Budgeting (PB) means applicants put in application forms that are voted on by young people in your community.

There are 6 key themes for Year of Young People and as such your application must fit onto one of these categories:

Culture: Share and celebrate young people’s talent and contribution to Scottish culture and arts.

Education: Allow young people to have more say in their education and learning.

Enterprise and Regeneration: Celebrate young people’s role in innovation, entrepreneurship and the Scottish economy as well as making Scotland a greener and more pleasant place to live.

Equality and Discrimination: Recognise the positive impact of young people in Scotland and encourage them to take the lead in challenging all forms of prejudice and discrimination.

Health and Wellbeing: Make sure young people have the chance to lead healthy, active lives and understand the importance of mental health and resilience.

Participation: Give young people the chance to influence decisions that affect their lives.

PB is offering bids of up to £1000 for ongoing and one off activities, events and groups that benefit young people aged 12-25 in your area.

The application takes no time at all to complete and can be completed and emailed back to us.

Closing date for this round is this Friday 24th November 2017 at 5pm.

Once applications are in they will be short-listed and up to 15 applications per area will go through to an online vote during the week 5-9th February through the Young Scot website. Applicants will know if they are successful on 9th February.

The process is so simple and quick its a must for any group working with this age group to complete an application for voting. The application form is available here:  https://young.scot/NA-Funding
