North Ayrshire Council is developing the Millport Coastal Flood Protection Scheme with close community involvement.

The Council presented the preferred solution of the Millport Coastal Flood Protection Scheme to the Community in February 2019. At that event, onshore works, were discussed in detail with the community, focusing on the location, appearance, landscaping and access needs for the flood walls.

The Council would like to update the local residents on the progress we have made since the February 2019 Community Consultation Events and show how we incorporated the feedback from the community into the design.

The Council’s Tourism and Coastal Economy Team is also working to develop Millport further as a key tourism destination on the Firth of Clyde. North Ayrshire Council are working on an Ayrshire Growth Deal for Marine Tourism.
